About this form
IR386 is used to request a refund of NRWT or certification of NRWT paid for a recipient of New Zealand non-resident withholding income.
When to use it
A current-year over-deduction may be corrected against a later payment where possible. Use IR386 for earlier years, or where the payer can no longer adjust a future payment. If the recipient has a New Zealand IRD number, IR3NR may be required for a refund request.
