About this form
Use IR3NR to report New Zealand-sourced income if you were a non-resident taxpayer for the full income year.
When to use this form
You may need to file an IR3NR if you received income from New Zealand while you were a non-resident.
You generally do not need to file if your only New Zealand income is exempt, or is interest, dividends or royalties with the correct tax deducted.
What you will need
- your IRD number
- details of taxed and untaxed income received during the tax year
- details of any expenses you want to claim
You can file through myIR or download and complete the paper IR3NR return.
