About this form

IR105 is used to apply for an exemption from paying New Zealand child support or domestic maintenance while in a New Zealand or overseas prison or hospital.

When to use this form

Prisoners must apply while still in prison. Hospital patients may apply while in hospital or within 3 months after leaving. The form sets out the minimum stay and income conditions.

• IRD number, identity and address details
• Prison or hospital dates and official confirmation
• Expected investment, benefit and other income

How to complete it

Complete the applicant section and have the prison or hospital officer complete the confirmation section. Send the signed form as directed.
