Use IR483 for an eligible organisation to elect to become a Māori authority for tax purposes.

When to use this form

Use the form after checking that the organisation meets one of the eligibility categories listed on IR483. Select the applicable category and election start date.

What you will need

• The organisation’s name, address and IRD number
• The election start date and applicable eligibility category
• The authorised person’s name, position, contact details and signed declaration

How to file

Download and complete IR483, then print, sign and send it to Inland Revenue using the postal instructions on the official form page.
